What Makes Somebody Afrocentric? - Our Vision

I believe that everybody, no matter the background, has some aspect of themselves that is Afrocentric, as in, something that makes someone individually great, and that the issue that is prominently faced in people's lives today is that many don't see the greatness that they can produce.

As a cultural movement, The Afrocentric Jukeboxx is meant to motivate those who have imagination, creativity, and inspiration within their God-given "afros" atop their heads to utilize and apply these values in interactive and productive ways in order to produce greatness for themselves and their environment, further diversifying the already wide expanse of the world's "jukebox" with the greatness one has.

What makes somebody "Afrocentric" is the variety of creativity that they have and their pursuit to strengthen their skills, talents, and knowledge. This is done in order to produce great works for the purpose of not only the benefit of others but most importantly for the benefit of one's self. One working to better themselves and one already changed for the better are both aspects of one who is Afrocentric. Another aspect of what makes somebody Afrocentric is the variety of ideas one has and allowing them to flourish in any intellectual environment (be it political, social, educational, or personal); whether one agrees or disagrees, someone who is Afrocentric strives to understand and/or appreciate different opinions and values while further developing their own. Anyone can strive to become Afrocentric.
However, an Afrocentric Jukeboxx is one who endeavors to strengthen one's relationship with the Lord by using what is Afrocentric about oneself to spread the gospel in creative ways.

As a brand, someone who follows the criteria above is Afrocentric, and there are many who are and have been so.

Lastly, I as The Afrocentric Jukeboxx am here to utilize what I believe to be Afrocentric about myself in the way that I know I can. The Jukeboxx is a stage for the music I co-produce with The SterlingMan, AKA Jermaine McClellan, the art we create together, the written works we produce, and a platform for all of our creativity. The Jukeboxx is also here to provide knowledge of those who have been Afrocentric in the past and those who are today to establish the notion that there is greatness in those who can't see greatness within themselves and that there is greatness in those who others can't see greatness in. There will be posts every week, so stay tuned to The Jukeboxx!

This is The Afrocentric Jukeboxx. God bless.
